Rainfall Data

Our five rain gauges are sites important to the villages of the Red Zone.  We identified locations in late 2021 during a series of community walks  

Although these communities are less than 10 km apart their experience tells us that rainfall often varies between villages and their catchments. So, weather-related hazards are not experienced in the same way at the same time.  The type and style of water flows has also changed since the eruption, and this will change over time.  

In this exhibit, the data  downloaded by the  team from the community-maintained gauges is shared as a series of plots for each rain gauge. You can see how rainfall changes over time and between different locations.
